A 13-member Indian academic delegation from various universities on Thursday called upon the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha and discussed the role of livestock sector in socio-economic development of the country.
The delegation was led by Dr Promila from the Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University (HPAU), Palampur. German professor, Dr Honermeier, and Professor Dr Kais Nopachi from Japan were also present on the occasion. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha briefed the delegation on the university academic, research and extension activities.
He said the UVAS was imparting quality veterinary education to cater to the needs of livestock and related sectors. He said that the UVAS was playing an effective role in leather, poultry, meat and dairy sectors also. Professor Pasha said that the livestock sector was fast growing in the Saarc countries.
