15 Feb, 2013

Siemens Pakistan wrapped up its relief efforts for the 2010 and 2011 floods by donating an amount of Rs 0.4 million towards a women handicraft centre in District Sujawal, bringing the company's total flood relief efforts for Pakistan to Rs 267.5 million.
The donation was handed over by Siemens Pakistan CEO Guenter Zwickl to Commander Jaffar of the Pakistan Navy, which established the handicraft centre. Speaking on the occasion Zwickl said Siemens had a long association with Pakistan and was always ready to help when the company's assistance was required. He said Siemens would continue to play its part as a good corporate citizen in the future.
The latest donation brings to an end the more than two-year-long effort by Siemens to help the people affected by the disastrous 2010 and 2011 floods. During these two years, Siemens donated food hampers, set up a tent village, helped to reconstruct schools in four provinces of the country devastated by floods, donated diesel-generating sets, and installed water purification plants among other efforts.-PR
