At least five people including two Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activists were killed in different incidents of violence in the city on Thursday, police and rescue sources said. In the first incident, a man was gunned down in Sultanabad area in the limits of Mangopir police station. The deceased was identified as Shakeel, 28, son of Abdullah, resident of Sector-10, Orangi Town.
He was shot and killed by unidentified armed men after kidnapped him. Police said that deceased was shot sixteen times before his body was dumped at an abandon place. The deceased belonged to Mirpur, Azad Kashmir. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities and later handed over to the heirs.
In another incident, a man was shot dead at his shop in the limits of Rizvia police station. The deceased was identified as Abdul Aziz, 30, son of Yaseen Chohan, who is stated to be worker of MQM, unit-189. The body was shifted to ASH for autopsy. A man was gunned down in FB area, block-B in the limits of Samanabad police station. The deceased was identified as Syed Danish Hussain Zaidi, 22, son of Gazanfar Hussain Zaidi, who was shot and killed by unidentified men outside his home.
The body was shifted to ASH for medico-legal formalities and later handed over to the heirs. A man was shot and killed in Faqeera Goth in the limits of Sohrab Goth police station. The deceased was identified as Akhtar Ali Gabool son of Nimo Gabool. Sources said that deceased was an activist of MQM. The body was shifted to ASH for medico-legal formalities and later handed over to the heirs.
Meanwhile, a dead body of man was recovered in Malir area in the limits of Memon Goth police station. The deceased was identified as Irfan, 25, son of Abdul Aziz. He lived in Khokhrapar area. He was shot and killed after being kidnapped by unknown men. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy.
