President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday said Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline would be completed at any cost, adding that Pakistan is an independent state and authorised to have deal with any country, a private TV channel reported. Talking to media persons at Bilawal House Lahore, the president said that he would not betray the democratic system and hand over the power to the elected government.
Commenting on the election campaign of Pakistan Peoples Party, he said that former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani would lead the election campaign. He said Pakistan has signed IP project keeping in view energy requirement of the country and nobody has power to halt it. Commenting on Gwadar project, the president said Pakistan is an independent state and authorised to have a deal with any country of the world in order to take care of its national interests.
