No deal on cotton market

No business activity was seen on the cotton market on Monday due to strike in Karachi against killings of 47 people in two bomb blasts, dealers said on Phone. The official spot rate was unchanged at Rs 6,450, dealers said. Seed cotton prices in Sindh were unchanged at Rs 2,300-2,900 and in Punjab rates were also at 2,400-3,200, they said.
According to the fortnightly report, about 12.701 million bales of cotton have been reached into the country's ginneries, showing a fall of 11.23 percent against the last year. It is expected that business activity may improve in coming days, they said.
