It has not even been a month since Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and S9+ launch and it is already showing problems in its touch display.

Not long ago, Samsung launched its much anticipated flagship, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ and they were immediately considered as one of the best smartphones. However, recently reports showed that the display panel stopped the touchscreen from taking inputs in some areas that resulted in ‘dead zones’ or ‘dead spots’.

The issue does not occur in one specific region of the screen but differs from user to user. Taps and swipes on these areas of the screen are not recognized and if the dead zones appear in an area that is frequently accessed, the intended functionality of the area can be broken down, as reported by Android Authority.

The users have been facing the issue very frequently and took to the Samsung Community to report it. One of them wrote, “Does anyone else have issues with the Galaxy S9 touchscreen? I’ve got a few dead spots on the bottom half of my screen.”

Moreover, the South Korean tech giant has officially accepted the issue and gave out a statement saying that they are looking further into the issue along with working with the customers affected.

The statement reads, “At Samsung, customer satisfaction is core to our business and we aim to deliver the best possible experience. We are looking into a limited number of reports of Galaxy S9/S9+ touchscreen responsiveness issues. We are working with affected customers and investigating. We encourage any customer with questions to contact us directly at 1-800-SAMSUNG.”
