Sarfraz, who led his side to the Champions Trophy title last year which was their first ever win in this tournament, was conferred the award by Sindh Governor Mohammad Zubair at the Governor House in Karachi on Friday. Former captain Younis Khan was also awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his services to the game, becoming the country’s most successful Test cricketer with over 10,000 runs. Meanwhile, two other cricketers, Misbah ul Haq and Shahid Afridi, were also nominated by the government to receive the Sitara-e-Imtiaz this year. “Alhamdullilah awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz on Pakistan Resolution Day at Governor house, Sindh,” Sarfraz posted on social media.
