Islamabad police recover stolen items worth Rs 57.2 million

Expediting efforts to trace theft cases, Islamabad Police recovered stolen items worth Rs 57.2 million during current year after resolving cases successfully, a police spokesman said.
According to details, IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan directed heads of all police circles to accelerate efforts in tracing the theft as well as burglary cases and provide maximum relief to citizens by resolving their problems. In compliance of these directions, heads of all police stations gave special directions to Investigation Officers of various cases to make renewed efforts. During this year, a total of 97 theft cases were resolved and 195 theft accused were arrested besides a total recovery of worth Rs 5,72,16,600 from them.
IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq have said that providing relief to citizens is the responsibility of police and every possible effort should be made to provide protection to the lives and property of citizens.
