Hearing a case on Tuesday on allowing overseas Pakistanis to cast their votes, the Supreme Court asked Attorney General for Pakistan Irfan Qadir to appear before the court on the next date of hearing. A three-judge bench of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was hearing a petition filed by Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan.
During the course of proceedings, the bench was informed that the Election Commission of Pakistan has not yet apprised the bench on progress on allowing overseas Pakistanis to exercise their right to vote. Munir A Piracha, the counsel for the ECP, sought more time and the hearing of case was adjourned till March 13.
