Taking a step forward in the realm of technology, Apple launched a unique ‘notch’ style in its iPhone X that was soon the new design for smartphones with many of them copying it. This time, as reports suggest, Apple is working on releasing foldable iPhones that can open and close like a book that will be released by 2020.
While talking about Apple’s upcoming phones, CNBC quoted one of the analysts at Bank of America Merrill Lynch saying, “Our checks suggest that Apple is working with suppliers on a foldable phone (that potentially could double up as a tablet) for launch in 2020.”
Foldable phones are speculated to be the next big thing in the smartphone technology. Market giants Samsung and Lenovo have demonstrated concept devices with foldable screens but have not launched such phones yet.
Samsung’s president confirms rumors about its foldable phone
The foldable smart phone has remained an unrealized dream for many tech giants, Samsung’s Galaxy X is considered to be the closest to reality. However, according to Forbes, the details, such as when it is coming out and functionality remain clouded for years. Rumors say that the company will unveil its foldable smartphones in early 2019.
Though Apple filed a patent last year that described ‘an electronic device [that] may have a flexible portion that allows [it] to be folded,’ the Cupertino based tech giant has not yet commented on the speculations.
