District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Lahore Noor-ul-Amin Mengal has said that an awareness polio walk would be organised on March 24 and officers of various departments and the members of civil society would participate in this walk. He expressed these views while chairing a meeting regarding polio and dengue on Friday, disclosed an official.
Town Administrators, Assistant Commissioners, TMOs, EDOs of various departments, representatives of WHO and various other officers attended the meeting. Mengal revealed that all towns and their officials would also participate in upcoming polio drive and the services of Ulema and Scouts will be acquired in the polio drive. He also handed over the charge of Polio Cell to DO (C) Sahibzadi Waseema Umer, where she will monitor activities of all polio teams.
On the occasion, the DCO Lahore directed all Deputy District Officers Health to ensure the installation of directional board of health centres on prominent places. Regarding dengue arrangements, he directed all official concerned to ensure cleanliness in all graveyards, junkyards and tyre shops. He also directed them to pay visits to graveyards and tyre shops in their respective jurisdiction, and if such places are found dirty, gravediggers should be apprehended and license of tyre shops should be cancelled and their shops sealed.
