Jamaat-i-Islami Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa demanded of the interim government to remove officials appointed in various departments on political grounds in the province. Addressing at a press conference here at Press Club, JI district Peshawar, ameer Baharullah Advocate said that his party hasn't objection on anyone from three nominees for caretaker chief minister in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, despite not taking them into confidence on this important matter.
He, however, demanded that the caretaker government should take steps for removal of officials at high ranks appointed on political grounds in police, administration, and other public sector departments, by formally taking charge in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Accompanied by the party general secretary, Hamadullah Jan, Mohammad Iqbal and others, he informed that his party would launch its election campaign by holding a historic political rally on March 23 in district Peshawar. He added the JI Central Ameer Syed Munawar Hassan will address the rally.
He said they would expect participation of more than 50,000 people, including workers from various districts of the province. He informed they had formed different committees for this historic political gathering on Ring Road near Peshawar motorway. A masses contact campaign has so far been launched by the JI candidates including four for National and 11 for Provincial Assemblies in district Peshawar, he maintained.
Regarding the electoral alliance or seat adjustment with other political parties, he informed that JI would give top preference to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, followed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, and Jamaat-e-Ulema Islam-Fazl, for seat-to-seat adjustment in next general elections. In this regard, he added that the meetings have been scheduled with provincial leaders of PTI, PML-N and JUI-F on March 16, 17 and 19, respectively. He claimed that Jamaat-i-Islami would form next government in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa with thumping majority of votes.
