'Chacha' Chaudhry dies on 104th birthday

veteran photo journalist F E Chaudhry known as 'Chacha' Chaudhry, breathed his last on his 104th birthday. He was the recipient of Tamgha-e-Khidmat, President's Pride of Performance, Sitara-e-Imtiaz and numerous other prestigious awards. He was the father of the war hero the late Group Captain Cecil Chaudhry.
His funeral will take place on March 17 (today) at 1.00 PM at the Sacred Heart Cathedral Lawrence Road and later he will be laid to rest at the Jail Road cemetery Lahore. Meanwhile, Sarmad Ali, President on behalf of the office-bearers and members of the All Pakistan Newspaper Society expressed his profound grief on the sad demise of renowned press photographer F. E. Chaudhry.
The APNS acknowledges the services and contribution of the veteran photographer for the newspaper industry and notes with sorrow that with him a golden chapter of dedicated professional photography has ended. The vacuum caused by his death would not be filled by the press in Pakistan, stated the APNS president. The APNS condoles with the family of late F. E. Chaudhry.
