Chief Justice of Supreme Court Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Sunday took suo motu notice of the transfer of Chairman, Capital Development Authority's (CDA), and directed cabinet and interior secretaries to appear before the court along with the transfer order on Monday (today).
Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf transferred chairman CDA, Tahir Shahbaz, a BS-21 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service, who only took charge as head of the civic body on October 2, 2012, for allegedly not accepting an order of the premier.
As the premier is all set to leave, he reportedly wanted to bless some of his 15 baboos with plots in sector G-14 of federal capital. But the top guy of the civic body refused to entertain the out-of-turn favours, given by the primer to his 'blue-eyed' boys, which resulted in his removal. According to a court statement, the case will be taken up on Monday where notifications and summaries in respect to the said transfers and postings will be produced. Both the chairmen of CDA will appear before the court. The court statement says that notifications of premature transfer of CDA chairman, is prima facie, violative of the judgement of the apex court.
