Senator Kamran Michael and Assembly Members Dr Darshan and Tahir Sindhu said that efforts to make political capital out of Badami Bagh incident will not succeed and Chaudhry Shujaat's attempt at point-scoring on the issue reflects his narrow mindedness.
Commenting upon Chaudhry Shujaat statement, the parliamentarians said that the elements engaged in politics over religion cannot be sincere to the country. He said that more than 150 persons involved in Badami Bagh incident have been arrested and a number of them are in jail while cheques of financial assistance of five lakh rupees each have been given to the affected families.
They further said that Punjab government has completed construction work of 60 houses and two churches in Joseph Colony while repair and reconstruction of remaining houses is in progress on emergent basis and four hundred labourers are engaged in this task round the clock. They said that provincial ministers, assembly members and officers of district administration are supervising rehabilitation and reconstruction activities in Joseph Colony.
