Murad shines in 2nd ICAP Golf Championship

Sardar Murad has emerged as winner of the 2nd ICAP Golf Championship organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) in collaboration with Bank Alfalah here at Royal Palm Golf Club.
The event lured golf loving chartered accountants, business giants, lawyers, bankers and entrepreneurs of significance and 132 of them enjoyed a hugely competitive golf outing sprinkled by some touching ICAP hospitality.
After the completion of the 18 holes competition contested on stroke play basis, the triumphant one turned out to be Sardar Murad, a four handicapper who carded the best gross score of the day, a four over par 76 and thereby picked up the glittering winners trophy.
During this prestigious corporate event, Murad's closest challengers were Shoaib Bokhari, Hussain Hamid and Abbas Ali Khan, who ended the 18 holes contest with fighting scores which reflected steady play but good enough only to fetch them prizes other than the first.
In the Chartered Accountants category,the top performers were Shahzad Hussain(1st gross),Imran Farooq Mian(2nd gross),and Waheed Aslam(3rd gross). Performers of net category were Anjum Ata Sheikh (1st net),Ali Raza Jafri(2nd net) and Rashid Ibrahim (3rd net).
Prize winners in the handicap category 13 to 18 were included Khalid Mehmood Chaudry(1st gross),Shahid Karim(2nd gross) and Lieutenant General M.Tariq (Retd) (3rd gross) and positions in net section were attained by Adnan Gilani(1st net), Faisal Raja (2nd net) and Amir Iftikhar(3rd net). Net section achievers in handicap category 1 to 12 were Hamid Sharif, Shahid Abbas and Jehanzeb Baig. Overall winner in net category was Mohtisham Aftab.
As for the other prize winners the nearest to the pin prizes went to Taimoor Shabbir and Sameer Iftikhar.The longest drive of 300 yards was hit by Farid Malik on hole no 3 and Shoaib Shams hit the ball to a massive distance of 327 yards on hole number 12.
A lucky draw was also held for caddies and 15 lucky ones were given bicycles by Ahmed Saeed, President of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.
Haji Yousaf of ICAP said that this golf tournament was an initiative on the part of ICAP to promote corporate golf. Also present at the concluding ceremony were Ramzan Sheikh, Lieutenant General Muhammed Tariq (Retd), Naeem Sheikh, Pervez Qureshi, Iftikhar Taj Mian, Badia Raza and a large number of participating golfers.
