Rice prices up on grain market

Prices of rice higher on the wholesale grain market on Monday in process of subdued activity, dealers said.
On the rice sector, Irri-6 Sindh best type gained Rs 35 to Rs 3500 and the low variety retained week-end level at Rs 3425, Irri-9 low type rose by Rs 200 t0 Rs 5500 and the good variety gained Rs 150 to Rs 5650, Basmati No 386 new low variety appreciated by Rs 400 to Rs 7000, irri-white (broken) lost Rs 50 to Rs 2850 and the best quality was down by Rs 25 to Rs 2900, other items maintained last levels, they said.
On the cereals sector prices tended higher as Makai low variety appreciated by Rs 100 to Rs 2725 while the best type was unchanged at Rs 2750 while Juwar low variety was inert at Rs 2500 while the good type was up by Rs 50 to Rs 2650, barley Sindh and Mardan drifted lower by Rs 100 to Rs 3000, they said. Prices were unchanged on the grams and seeds sides, they added.
