Divergent trend witnessed on the wholesale grain market on Wednesday in the process of moderate trading, dealers said. Most of the changes were seen on the cereals side, where Makai prices improved after maintaining a firm trend for a long time, gaining Rs 25 to Rs 2750-2775, Juwar, low variety was unchanged at Rs 2500 while the best type shed Rs 50 to Rs 2600, wheat old (Bardan) fell sharply by Rs 450 and the best type also down by Rs 175 to Rs 2950, other commodities sustained overnight levels, they said.
Only one change was seen on the grams side, gram 50x50 lost Rs 100 to Rs 5300-5700, they said. On the rice sector, Irri-6 Sindh low type was lower by Rs 25 to Rs 3400 and the superior type was inert at Rs 3500, they said. On the seeds side, cakes low type gained Rs 35 to Rs 1075 and good quality was higher by Rs 50 to Rs 1100, cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh low type was up by Rs 50 to Rs 650 and the best type was higher by Rs 25 to Rs 775, cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh (new) inferior variety was unchanged at Rs 1000 while the good type rose by Rs 50 to Rs 1200, they said.
