The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday approved the recommendations of Provincial Election Commissioner Sindh on delimitation in Karachi, days before Chief Election Commission's announcement for election schedule. Sources said that boundaries of three national assembly constituencies and eight provincial assembly seats in Karachi would be redrawn.
These constituencies are: NA-239, NA-250, NA-254, PS-89, PS-112, PS-113, PS-114, PS-115, PS-116, PS-118 and PS-124. In general elections 2008, nine returned candidates with highest number of votes are from Karachi and Hyderabad. The meeting headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Fakhruddin G Ibrahim also reviewed other matters pertaining to printing of ballot papers and voters' registration.
