Karachi unrest badly affects trade: PIAF Chairman

Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF) would put in its best efforts to get resolved the issues being faced by computer and mobile phone sectors, as it is preparing a set of proposals for the upcoming budget. PIAF Chairman Malik Tahir Javaid stated this while addressing a gathering of Anjman-e-Tajiran, Hafeez Centre on Thursday.
The President Anjman-e-Tajiran, Hafeez Centre Fayyaz Butt, Secretary General Fayyaz Sheikh and Chairman of the association Mian Sajjad also spoke on the occasion. He said that the Information Technology has an important role for the promotion of trade and industry in today's world therefore the policy makers should utilise all available resources for the promotion of this important sector. He said that unrest all over the country, particularly in Karachi has halted the economic activities but hopefully new regime would take all stakeholders into confidence at evolve policies for early revival of business activities in the country.
Malik Tahir Javed urged the office-bearers of Anjuman-e-Tajiran Hafeez Center to forward their proposals as PIAF has already started the exercise for the preparation of budget proposals. Secretary General of Anjuman-e-Tajiran Hafeez Center presented the performance report and highlighted the taken by the association for the prosperity of the business community. He said that more than dozen development projects have been completed successfully and inauguration of a state-of-art lift system was one of them.
