Activists of civil society organisation on Friday staged a protest demonstration here outside Press Club against the yesterday's attack at IDPs camp in district Nowshera demanding a compensation package for affected families. Led by representatives of Pakhtunkhwa Civil Society Network, the participants were holding banners and placards inscribed slogans against the cowardly terrorist act.
They also shouted slogans against the government for failure to provide protection to homeless people in the settled areas. The participants demanded of the government to take proactive steps for restoration of durable peace in the region. Addressing the demonstrators, Idress Kamal, a social activist and chairman Citizens Rights and Sustainable Development (CRSD) organisation, said that innocent internally displaced persons had been targeted in the yesterday terrorist act. He strongly condemned the government and law enforcement agencies for not controlling growing terrorist incidents. He said that Aid Workers also fallen prey to the terrorism, which was matter of great anguish. He said that civil society members have been facing serious problems to serve the needy people. He asked the government to ensure protection to the people and compensate the victims' families.
