CDGL to repair century-old buildings

City District Government (CDG) Lahore will repair more than one-century- old buildings, Newton Hall and Patiala People Library of King Edward Medical University, under Dilkash Lahore Project. District Coordination Officer (DCO) Lahore Noor-ul-Amin Mengal expressed these views while visiting King Edward Medical University on Wednesday.
Vice Chancellor of King Edward University Faisal Masood, EDO works and services and others were allso present on this occasion. Mengal announced that the City District Government Lahore will repair damaged and obsolete buildings, ie, Newton Hall and King Edward Library, under Dilkash Lahore Project and will bear 50 percent expenses of repair work while the remaining amount will be given by King Edward administration. "The repair and construction work would soon be commenced by works and services department of CDGL," he added.
On the occasion, Faisal Masood, Vice Chancellor, announced that to-be-constructed underpass to link the University and Newton Hall would be named after Mengal. Meanwhile, the DCO Lahore paid a surprise visit to Pak Tea House and held discussion with visitors and asked about services being provided by Pak Tea House management. He directed concerned officials to install window pane on the second floor of Pak Tea House to avoid traffic noise.
