Wapda Hospital Hyderabad inaugurated

The Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) Chairman Syed Raghib Abbas Shah today inaugurated state-of-the-art Wapda Hospital Hyderabad. The new purpose-built building of the 50-bed hospital has been constructed with an amount of Rs 270 million.
Wapda Managing Director (Administration) Naveed Akram Cheema, Wapda Secretary Muhammad Imtiaz Tajwar, General Manager (South) Projects Ameer Bakhsh Meerani, HESCO Chief Executive Officer Muzaffar Ali Abbasi and Wapda Medial Services Director General Dr Zaheer-ul-Islam were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the Chairman said that the vibrant organisations are judged by the level of welfare activities carried out by them for their employees. He said that Wapda is committed to providing the basic amenities of health and education, as it accords highest priority to the well- being of its employees. He further said that Wapda spends about Rs 1.8 billion every year to provide healthcare facilities to employees and their families.
The Chairman said that the construction of new purpose-built hospital building will provide up-graded and advanced facilities to the large number of employees of Wapda, HESCO and other formations. He advised the medical staff to play their role as true friends of the patients, listen to their complaints attentively and examine them with involvement.
Earlier, Wapda Managing Director briefed the Chairman that Wapda Hospital Hyderabad is fully equipped with diagnostic as well as treatment facilities. The hospital has the facility of ICU, CCU, emergency department, state-of-the-art Operation theatre, out patient department and indoor wards.
It is pertinent to mention that Wapda, committed to its corporate social responsibility, provides medical facilities to the employees through an integrated health structure comprising 12 hospitals, 13 fortified dispensaries and 17 basic health units across the country.
