On the directions of the Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) Dr Shoaib Suddle, Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Pakistan Automated Customers Clearing System (PaCCS) has decided to clear 3,525 pending duty drawback claims filed by 1,401 claimants.
According to a public notice issued by Collector MCC PaCCS Karachi on Friday, in compliance with the directives of the Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO), MCC (PaCCS) has engaged all available resources to process pending duty drawback claims. During this exercise, scrutiny of micro-clear based PaCCS data shows that in 3,525 cases (1,401 claimants) the applicants have not provided address of the claimant, bank account No, bank name and bank branch and same could not be acquired from available sources.
In order to verify the authenticity, claimants are requested that the requisite information (Address of the claimant, Bank Account No, Bank Name and Bank Branch) should be submitted in person by the claimants in the office of DC (Facilitation), MCC PaCCS, within 30 days of the date of this Notice failing which the claimants will be treated as untraceable and claims shall be disposed of accordingly, as per law, it added. The intervention of the FTO has resulted in clearance of large number of pending duty drawback claims filed by 1401 claimants.
