The controversy arises in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) over awarding of the party tickets in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Workers have widely criticised the decision of party parliamentary board, described it totally ignorance of merit, while awarding tickets to candidates in various constituencies of the province.
Opposing the decision of parliamentary board, the disgruntled workers decide to field independent candidates, if the board was failed to review its decision in this regard. We have great reservations over the decision of parliamentary, which was taken against the merit regarding awarding of party tickets in the province, said Samad Mursaleen, a PTI leader from constituency PK-2, while talking to this scribe.
He viewed that the party was hijacked by a group of opportunist, and no merit being adopted for awarding tickets in various constituencies, particularly in PK-2. He criticised the parliamentary board had awarded tickets among blue-eyed people, and base on favouritism and nepotism. No merit was followed by board and provincial leaders in awarding party tickets in his constituency and rest of the province, he added.
The party, he said, has brought on verge of collapse by provincial leaders, and importantly impartial decision of the constituted parliamentary board regarding award of tickets. The decision was created great unrest among workers, he observed.
He, therefore, demanded, the party central leaders should intervene to review decision of the board. He said the PTI has been hijacked by provincial leaders, including Pervez Khattak, Asad Qaiser, Khalid Mashood, Shaukhat Yousafzai. A huge division was creating among workers due to provincial leaders in the prevailing circumstances in the province, he maintained. After the partial decision of parliamentary board, he said he submitted nomination papers, to contest next elections independently from constituency PK-2.
