Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) has called for changing the existing administration of Punjab for holding free and fair elections. PML-Q President Shujaat Hussain made the demand while talking to reporters during his visit to the residence of PML-Q Lahore President Yousuf Ahad Malik on Sunday to condole the demise of his father, Ahad Malik.
Former Deputy Prime Minister Chaidhry Parvaiz Elahi, Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Syed and Moonis Elahi were also present on the occasion. Shujaat Hussain said that N-League was not able to give tickets to its candidates because it fears those not getting tickets will leave the party.
"It is essential to change the Punjab administration for ensuring free and fair elections. Those dreaming to become the prime minister should first seek interpretation of their dream from a "peer". Shujaat said that process of seat adjustment with the People's Party had not yet been complete. "The NA-105 Gujrat is our ancestral seat. I have won election five times from the constituency," he said, adding: Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi Shaheed also contested elections from this seat and now Chaudhry Parvaiz Elahi is the candidate from this constituency."
To a question about PML-N's 'ditching' of PML-Like-Minded, Shujaat Hussain said that first they should get over their grief and then there would be talk with them. "What you sow, so shall you reap," he said.
Parvaiz Elahi reiterated his earlier demand that till the administration of the Punjab was not changed holding of free and fair elections would be a dream. "The present administration is the favourite of Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif and officers have been told whosoever will give better results in favour of N-League he will get better posting after the elections," he said. To a question, he said that the caretaker Chief Minister had held talks with the Election Commission regarding changes in the Punjab administration and he should be given time in this regard.
