Bannu blast kills two, injures ANP candidate

Two people were killed and eight others including former MPA and ANP's candidate for provincial assembly, Adnan Wazir were injured in a blast near an election rally at Wali Noor area of Bannu district here on Sunday.
Adnan Wazir, a former MPA and ANP's candidate for PK-72 constituency Frontier Region Jani Khel, was heading along with a convoy of dozens of vehicles to address a public rally at government higher secondary school Shadkhan at Wali Noor area, when suddenly a planted bomb exploded with a bang.
Locals said that Adnan Wazir was at a distance of a few yards from venue of his public gathering organised in connection of his election campaign, when the bomb exploded. Resultantly, two persons identified as Maqbool and Malak Mumtaz were killed while the ANP's candidate Adnan Wazir along with eight others sustained injuries. The injured were identified as Malik Khakan, Ayub, Amir Mohammad, Wasil Khan, Shad Ayaz and Wahidullah. Meanwhile, the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack.
