The police foiled a terror bid as it recovered and defused a suicide jacket here in Akhwan Baba locality of Mardan on Sunday. According to Station House Officer (SHO) Nihar Khan, Parhoti Police got a tip off regarding presence of a suicide jacket in unpopulated area of Akhwan Baba.
Heavy contingent of police reached the scene along with bomb disposal squad (BDS) and defused the jacket containing five kilogram explosives. Police said that the suicide jacket could result in massive loss of lives and property but timely action foiled the bid.
