Three 'hardened criminals' among four persons killed in Karachi

At least four persons, including three alleged hardened criminals, were gunned down in different areas of the city on Sunday. SSP Special Investigation Unit (SIU) said that the three alleged suspects were killed in a shootout in the Mauripur area after one of their officers received information that certain 'most-wanted' criminals were hiding in a locality near the Northern Bypass.
The SSP said that the three were wanted by police in kidnappings for ransom cases. He said that the suspects started shooting on the police party as soon as it reached the spot.
One of the suspects, later identified as Daud Gishkori, and his accomplices were planning kidnapping for ransom activities. Ali Mallah and Akhtar Sial, two of Daud's accomplices, were shot dead in the encounter. Other criminals managed to escape from the scene.
The police officer said that a huge cache of arms had also been seized in the raid. Meanwhile, the owner of Warsi Autos was shot dead by unidentified gunmen near Dua Chowk in New Karachi area. The deceased was identified as Irshad Warsi, 38. Separately, three persons, including a head cleric of a mosque, were injured after they were attacked by armed gunmen in Abdullah Goth in the Bin Qasim area.
