A bar member has approached the Lahore High Court to halt the process of upcoming general elections. The petitioner, Shahid Jami, contended that the Election Commission of Pakistan had not evolved any mechanism for the enforcement of Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution. He said the scrutiny of nomination papers was also not being done in a satisfactory manner. He requested the court to restrain the ECP from holding elections.
