Bid to smuggle 582kg hashish foiled

National Highways & Motorway Police (NH&MP) on Sunday foiled a bid to smuggle huge quantity of drugs on Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway (M-1) and arrested two members of inter-provincial gang. Talking to newsmen, SSP Tahir Khan has said that acting on a tip off, the NH&MP patrolling staff foiled a bid to smuggle 582 kilogrammes of charas from Peshawar to Islamabad which was hidden in secret parts of a dumper.
According to Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) the accused identified as Ghani Ur Rehman and Shah Tareen were arrested. They were smuggling narcotics from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Punjab. SSP said that the accused were handed over to ANF for further legal action.
