Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will not head the three-member bench, which is going to take up the petition for trial under Article 6 of the Constitution of General Pervez Musharraf (retd) on Monday (today), a private TV channel reported.
The Chief Justice has recused himself from the bench and Justice Jawwad S Khawaja will now head the bench.
The petition has been filed by Chaudhry Taufiq Asif, President of Lahore High Court Bar Association (Rawalpindi Bench).
Asif has pleaded the court in his petition to issue directive to federal government for trying the former military ruler under Article 6 for imposing emergency rule in 2007, the channel added.
