Former President and Chief of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Pervez Musharraf challenged rejection of his nomination papers filed from NA-48, Islamabad. Musharraf's counsel Qamar Afzal filed the appeal at the Election Tribunal against rejection of his papers.
It may be mentioned here that Musharraf's nomination papers for upcoming May 11 polls were rejected from Islamabad, Karachi and Kasur while his papers were accepted from Chitral. Rival political parties have vowed to challenge approval of his papers from Chitral.
