At least ten passengers including four women lost their lives and 14 others received injuries when an air-conditioned coach collided with a long vehicle on Indus Highway at village Daad Shaheed near Aliabad town on Tuesday.
According to Edhi Welfare Centre, the accident took place at around 04.00 hours when the driver of Larkana bound air-conditioned coach lost control over the steering and it collided with a long chassis truck coming from opposite direction at village Daad Shaheed. As a result of collision, ten persons including four women received critical injuries and lost their lives before they could get any first-aid while 14 others were left injured.
Three out of the 10 deceased persons have been identified as Shamshad Begum, Zubeda and Arif while the injured persons who were shifted to Liaquat University Hospital Jamshoro and City Branches have been identified as Muhammad Arif, Saeed, Liaquat, Muhammad Din, Muhammad Saleem, Imamuddin, Muhsin, Akhtar, Asif, Shakeel, Sajid Ali, Barkat Ali, Punhu Khan and Bayam.
The bodies of the deceased were shifted to the mortuary of Liaquat University Hospital City Branch for identification and medico legal formalities, the volunteers of Edhi Welfare Centre informed.
