Baisakhi Festival: 3,000 Sikh Yatrees due today

As many as 3000 Sikh Yatrees will arrive in the provincial metropolis from India through special trains at Wahga border for celebrating Baisakhi Festival here on Wednesday. Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) officials have made special arrangements at Wahga Railway station to welcome the guests. Sikh Yatrees will stay in Pakistan till April 19.
According to schedule, a copy available to Business Recorder after getting clearance from customs and immigration, Sikh Yatrees will leave for Gurdwara Panja Sahib, Hassanabdal where they will perform their religious rituals. The main religious function will start tomorrow at 8.00 am with Arambah Paath Sahib, on April 12 Madah Ki Ardas and April 13 Bhog Akhand Paath Sahib will perform.
As per schedule, on April 13 they will depart for Gurdwara janam Asthan, Nankana Sahib where they will stay for two days. They will also visit to Gurdwara Sacha Sauda, Farooqabad.
On April 16, they will depart from Nankana Sahib to Gurdwara Dera Sahib Lahore. During two days stay in Lahore they will also visit Gurdwara Rorri Sahib, Eninabad of District Gujranwala. On April 19, Sikh Yatrees would leave for India.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Railways and police have made special arrangement for security of the Sikh Yatrees on the eve of Baisakhi festival. Pakistan Railways had arranged 3 special trains for the Sikh Yatrees while for security purpose special arrangements have also been made by the Railway Police on the directions of Syed Ibne Hussain Inspector General Railway Police (IGP).
According to Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Dr Shazad Saddiqui, all SPs of Pakistan Railway Police had been directed to make strict security plan and commandos have been deployed with the Sikh Special Trains. Lady Commandos have also been deployed with the train for the security of Sikhs ladies.
According to a senior official of Pakistan Railway Police, Railway Police Bomb Disposal Staff had checked the entire empty racks and Railway Station Nankana Sahib, Lahore, Hassanabdal and Badami Bagh with the co-ordination of local district police and administration, he added. A fool proof security rehearsal has also been conducted. IGP Railways issued special direction to PRP staff for good behaviour and conduct with the Sikh Yatrees so that they remember the services Of PRP in their country.
