Partly Facetious: Interior minister has already put his foot in his mouth

"So what do you think of the caretakers?"
"Well they don't have the capacity to take care of what is left behind."
"This comment makes me angry."
"Why?"
"Your anti-PPP stance."
"No I simply meant that the caretakers do not have the capacity to either deal with the power crisis or indeed the law and order situation. And additionally they are concerned with not crossing the threshold of what they think they can do, I mean there is no constitutional clause that specifies what powers they can exercise."
"Well the Interior Minister has already put his foot in his mouth."
"See that is the difference between a democratically elected government and a caretaker set up. I recall Raisani sahib saying a degree is a degree whether it is real or fake, and he did not resign and was not asked to resign either and we have had other faux pas by our politicians but if you are caretaker then you cant get away with whatever comes to mind."
"A caretaker is supposed to be neutral and hence caretakers must refrain from such comments."
"But a comment like that would not compromise the caretaker Interior Minister's capacity to do his job, would it?"
"The guy inherited Rehman Malik's portfolio, so do you really reckon that he can ensure that no politician is subjected to terror attacks in less than two months."
"Difficult if not impossible; but I have a suggestion: he should begin eating bananas..."
"Talking of bananas and not apples maybe when the caretaker Interior Minister said he would vote for Nawaz Sharif he was actually going to vote for PPP."
"You are being facetious."
"Well he inherited a ministry whose head for the past five years rarely told a truth so perhaps this was a backhanded way to show support for PPP?"
"Talking of being neutral why hasn't the Interior Minister withdrawn the protocol to some cabinet ministers of yore. I myself saw Farzana Raja and her entourage going to the Benazir Income Support Programme building."
"Who will stop her? The chowkidar?"
"No, the caretaker Interior Minister."
"He has begun eating bananas."
"You are being facetious."
