Caretaker Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso on Saturday directed to all the federal cabinet members to refrain from issuing any controversial statements in future that might create problem for the government. The PM directives came after the controversial statement of the Interior Minister Malik Habib favouring Nawaz Sharif.
Khoso directed the ministers not to give any statement regarding their personal likeness on political issues, according to PM House spokesperson. The PM has also directed the Interior Ministry and the provincial governments to provide security to political leaders and candidates contesting general elections. Caretaker Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso summoned caretaker Interior Minister Malik Habib and sought a clarification on a statement regarding PML-N President Nawaz Sharif.
Habib presented his clarification to the caretaker PM and said he had made the statement in good intention and that it was distorted by the media. Caretaker PM Khoso clearly stated that the mandate of the interim government was to conduct free and transparent elections and it was essential that the caretaker cabinet remained neutral. Habib assured PM Khoso that he was neutral and had no affiliation with any political party.
