Capital police fail to control crime

The Capital police have failed to break the network of car lifters and robbers in the federal Capital, as 11 cases of carjacking, 10 of robbery and eight of fake cheques have reported to the city different police stations during the last week.
According to the information gathered by Business Recorder, during the last week Margalla police registered three cases of car lifting, one of robbery and a case of fake cheque, Aabpara Police Station registered two cases of car thefts and a case of fake cheque and Shalimar Station registered three case of fake cheque and one case each of robbery and carjacking.
Raman Police Station registered one case each of robbery and car jacking, Shahzad Town police registered one case of murder and robbery, Golra police registered two cases of robbery and Kohsar police registered two cases of fake cheques and one case each of robbery and carjacking. During the last week, the Secretariat Police Station registered one case each of carjacking and fake cheque, Ternol and Industrial Area Police registered one case each of car lifting, Barakhu Police Station registered one case of robbery and Nilore and Sihala Police Station registered one case each of robbery.
Resident complained that the robbers are roaming freely in the city, but police were unable to arrest them. They also said that due to ineffective patrolling by the police in different areas robbery and theft are frequently happenings. A police official on the condition of anonymity said that some organise gangs of car lifting and robbers are active in the city due to poor planning and negligence of high-ups in the department.
