This was revealed in a news of DGPR received here Tuesday.
According to the information consultant Ombudsman Punjab, Wazir Ahmed Qureshi in a letter sent to the Additional Secretary Regulations has directed Punjab government to provide details of pending cases of pension, GP Fund, Benevolent Fund and Welfare Fund and also identify the departments due to the lack of interest of the heads of which retiring officials and their widows are still deprived of Pension, GP Fund, Benevolent Fund and Welfare Fund.
According to the letter, Punjab government has formed Pension Cases Disposal Committee in 1983 for curbing delay in the payment of Pension, GP Fund, Benevolent Fund and Welfare Fund to the government servants of provincial departments. Ombudsman Punjab observed that despite existence of Pension Cases Disposal Committee, there is a delay in the payment of Pension, GP Fund, Benevolent Fund and Welfare Fund and comprehensive planning has been made for checking this trend and immediate work will be started in this regard upon the provision of details by the Punjab government.
