Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) on Wednesday formally announced its candidates for contesting elections on four National Assembly and 11 Provincial Assembly seats from the provincial metropolis. According to a statement issued by JUI-F's provincial sectary information Haji Abdul Jalil Jan, a ticket for NA-1 Peshawar has been given to Haji Shah Nawaz while on NA-2 Maulana Saeed Jan would be the party's candidate.
Similarly senator Haji Ghulam Ali, a close relative of the party chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rahman, has been given ticket to contest election on NA-3 Peshawar. Besides, a ticket of NA-4 Peshawar has been given to Arbab Kamal, who had recently joined JUI-F. Other candidates who have been given tickets included: Irfan Ullah, PK-1; Maulana Khair-ul-Bashar, PK-2, Haji Abdul Jalil Jan, PK-3; Arbab Farooq, PK-4; former provincial minister Maulana Aman Ullah Haqani, PK-5; Haji Zubair Khalil, Pk-6; Haji Rafeeq, PK-7; ex provincial minister for information Asaf Iqbal Daudzai, PK-8; Sharif Ahmad, PK-9; Mufti Sadiq, PK-10 and Khalid Waqar, PK-11.
