Terrorists attack on grid station: minister distributes cheques, appointment letters to victims' families

Caretaker Federal Minister for Water and Power, Dr Musadik Malik, has said that Frontier Constabulary would be deployed in the grid station for security due to terrorist's attacks and Ministry of Interior has been asked to provide troops in this regard. He said that a comprehensive security plan is being evolved to ensure security of employees and sensitive installations located in the vulnerable areas in different parts of the country.
He said this while distributing cheques and appointments letters to the families of deceased who were martyred during terrorists attack on Sheikh Muhammadi grid station on April 1, 2013. Four employees of NTDC and three policemen had sacrificed their lives for the sake of country. A cheque of Rs 1.5 million and appointment letter for each family of deceased of NTDC was given by the minister while Rs 0.5 million were distributed to the each family of policemen.
Malik said that it is the responsibility of the government to ensure lives and property of the people and stated that the government would utilise all the resources to protect them. He said that provincial government has also been asked to ensure security of the employees of grid station and power installations.
He expressed his deep sorrow and grief with the families of martyred and said that the nation has proud on them who saved the national assets. He also appealed the people not to damage the power installation, it's not only the loss of government, it's the loss for the people because ultimately the people suffered. The compensation package is not the price of human life it just a help to ease the difficulties of the families. Earlier, the Secretary |Water and Power in his address said that the compensation amount is a commitment from the government. it is not the alternate of the human life.
He said that the KPK government would also be requested for financial help of the families. The Managing Director of NTDC said on the occasion that the rehabilitation of grid station is in progress as per schedule and would be completed ahead of schedule.
