A US delegation called on Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani here on Sunday and discussed matters of mutual interest with particular focus on Afghanistan.
The members of the delegation included Ambassador David Pearce, Acting Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan; Lieutenant General Dagulas Lute (Retd), Special Assistant to the President on Afghanistan and Pakistan; Dr Peter Lavoy, Principal Assistant Secretary of Defence for Asian and Pacific Security Affairs and Ambassador Richard Olson. From Pakistan's side, Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jillani also attended the meeting.
The two sides discussed in detail situation in Afghanistan and along the Pak-Afghan border as well as drawdown of troops by the US and Nato from Afghanistan.
