The Home and Tribal Affairs Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has directed Provincial Police Officer (PPO), Commissioner Peshawar, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) and Director General (DG), Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) for action against illegal guest houses in the provincial capital.
In a communique on Monday, the department said that unchecked mushroom growth of illegal guest houses in residential areas have triggered law and order situation in the province in general and Peshawar in particular. The Deputy Commissioners (DCs) of Upper Dir, Lower Dir, Swat, Chitral, Kohat , Lakki Marwat, Hangu, Karak and Torghar have been directed to co-ordinate with personnel of levy forces on the election day which is scheduled for 11 May, 2013. The decision to deploy levy force has been taken as per security plan by the respective District Police Officers, keeping in view poor law and order situation in the province, department said.
