PPP dissident leader to contest polls independently

A dissident leader of Pakistan People's Party Parliamentarian (PPPP), Anwar Safi announced to contest election as independent candidate from constituency PK-2, vowed that he would not withdraw and face against the PPP candidate in the election. He made announcement while launching its political campaign during a press conference on Monday. He said the party had completely ignored ideological workers and awarded tickets on favouritism and nepotism basis.
He said the PPPP is no more party of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, due to hijacking by a group of opportunists in the party. He said that he always owned the party decision and withdrawn from electioneering race on PK-2 last polls. He urged the party ideological activists and workers, who were contesting election as independently in the election, should support him. Safi who will contest election on PK-2 against PPPP candidate Syed Zahir Ali Shah claimed that he will defeat his opponent the PPPP candidate in the forthcoming election gain overwhelming victory against him.
