There is acute shortage of water in industrial zones which is creating difficulties in carrying out industrial production and delays in fulfilling export orders specially, in textile and leather processing industries, located in Korangi, Landhi, F.B.Area, SITE and SITE Super Highway.
Gulzar Firoz, Vice President, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) said that the only solution and immediate step is setting up of Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant in all industrial areas. Gulzar Firoz further informed that 5 plants have already been approved for Korangi Industrial Area and feasibility is completed and formal approval is in pending with the Chief Minister of Sindh. He appealed to the Chief Minister to kindly immediately approve this project. Meanwhile KW&SB may be requested to prepare PC-1 for other industrial areas, stated by Gulzar Firoz.-PR
