The Meteorological Department has forecast fairly widespread thunderstorm/rain along with gusty winds is likely to occur over Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Thursday. It said scattered thunderstorm/ rain accompanied by gusty winds may occur over Balochistan, Larkana, Sukkur, D G Khan, Multan & Islamabad Divisions.
Isolated thunderstorm/rain associated with gusty winds may occur over Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Lahore, Gujranwala & Rawalpindi Divisions. During the period, hailstorm is also expected at a few places in the plain areas. Met Office in its daily weather report said that a low lies over north-west Balochistan and its adjoining areas. An upper air westerly trough is also prevailing over Iran, its adjoining area of Afghanistan & Pakistan, and likely to persist during next 02 days.
It said Rain/thunderstorm is expected at scattered places of KP (Malakand, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, D I Khan Divisions), D G Khan, Multan Divisions, while at isolated places of upper/central Punjab, Hazara, Sukkur, Larkana, Makran Divisions, Kashmir & Gilgit-Baltistan.
Mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country during next 48 hours. However, rain/thunderstorm is expected at scattered places of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, north-east Balochistan while at isolated places of upper Punjab, Kashmir and GB. Weather remained dry in most parts of the country on Wednesday. However, rain/thunderstorm occurred at scattered places of upper KP, Makran Division, while at isolated places of Bannu, D I Khan, Quetta Divisions & Kashmir. Met Office recorded rain as under: Parachinar =30, Peshawar A/P & City =14(each), Mirkhani =09, Chitral =08, Pattan =06, Drosh =05, Chakwal =02, Pasni, Bannu & Saidu Sharif =01(each), Kohat, Balakot & D I Khan-Trace (each).
