Forex reserves up by $248 million

The country''s liquid foreign exchange reserves witnessed an increase of $248 million during the last week. The State Bank of Pakistan on Thursday revealed that the country''s total reserves (including SBP and banks) surged to $11.938 billion as on April 19, 2013 from $11.690 billion as on April 12, 2013.
Major increase has been witnessed in the reserves held by SBP, which mounted up by $176.8 million to $6.817 billion from $6.640 billion. While banks'' reserves have reached $5.121 billion level, up by $71.2 million during the last week.
