On a tip-off from an electricity bill defaulter, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) caught an impersonator, pretending to be a NAB Employee, red-handed while bargaining with an electricity bill defaulter. The accused namely Shehreyar, an Assistant Line Man in WAPDA was contacting electricity defaulters with the assurance to settle their outstanding dues with NAB by paying him some money. He was caught red-handed while bargaining with an electricity defaulter by NAB (KP) Team.
In the wake of such kind of complaints, NAB has cautioned all power defaulters not to fall prey before such fraudsters and adopt proper procedure for payment. Defaulters should make payments in the branches of the scheduled commercial banks, WAPDA Offices or NAB (KP) Office and in no way make any payment to any unauthorised individual. All the electricity bill defaulters have been urged for immediate informing of the authorities of NAB (KP) authorities in case any individual approaching them for payment. Meanwhile NAB (KP) in collaboration with PESCO authorities had so far recovered Rs 108.5 million from the defaulters.
