CAPG holds condolence reference for Shamshad Begum

A condolence meeting of the Cultural Association of Pakistan Graduates (CAPG) for Shamshad Begum was held under the chair of Senator S.M. Zafar, patron-in-chief of the association. Association Secretary-General Jamil Gishkori presented a condolence resolution which said Shamshad Begum was one of the finest singers of her time.
She started her career on Lahore Radio in 1937, captivating the hearts of her listeners with the enchanting depth of her voice. Her melodious voice was used by the maestros like Naushad Ali and O.P. Nayyar. She had a distinct inimitable voice. Senator S.M. Zafar said Shamshadji's style of singing set new benchmarks. Her melodious voice with powerful lyrics gave us songs that have remained popular even today. Begum Shahid Hamid, M. Saeed Khan, Ali Zafar, Khalid Ghias, Rafique Khawar, Yasmin Saigol, Khurshid Akhtar Khan, Shahida Tahir and Qadeer Saigol were also present.
