Apple recently released its new iOS 11.3 update, which is deemed as its biggest update after iOS 11.
iOS 11.3 comes in with loads of exciting new updates in augmented reality (AR), Animoji, personal health records and also solves the biggest issue that Apple faced of slowing down the batteries intentionally as the update contains battery health and performance records.
As Apple’s Newsroom explained the update, there are new AR experiences that can be put digital objects on vertical and horizontal surfaces like walls, doors, tables and chairs. Also, with the help of ARKit, the irregular shaped surfaces can also be distinguished such as a circular table. ARKit can also incorporate 2D images like normal signs or posters into AR experiences such as ‘bringing a movie poster to life’. The update gives 50% higher resolutions along with auto-focus for sharper viewpoint.

Next, Apple has updated its Animoji feature for iPhone X by integrating more Animojis including lion, skull, dragon and bear, bringing users’ expressions to life in the form of these animals. The personal information is now more protected as a new icon appears along with a link to through data that explains how will it be used and protected.
The update also introduced ‘Business Chat’ beta version in US through which users can communicate directly with businesses within the built-in Messages app in iPhone or iPad. Users can easily ask questions, make purchases and schedule appointments. ‘Health Records’ beta version is also introduced in the US through which users can access records and view their lab results, medical data and more, which is all protected with a passcode.
The most awaited feature of the update was the information about iPhone’s battery health. With the new ‘iPhone Battery Health’ beta version, data regarding the phone maximum battery capacity and peak performance capability would be displayed. The update also included the option of disabling the performance management feature and will also recommend if the battery needs replacement.
